Dr. A Shiju Rawther Joins CareEdge Group as CTO to Lead Digital Transformation

Seasoned technology leader Dr. A Shiju Rawther joins CareEdge Group as CTO, bringing decades of expertise in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT leadership across global financial institutions.

Dr. A Shiju Rawther has joined CareEdge Group as Chief Information Technology Officer (CTO) in a strategic leadership move aimed at strengthening technology integration across its offerings. In his new role, Mr Rawther will lead digital transformation initiatives, drive innovation, and enhance the organisation’s technology capabilities to support business growth and improve operational efficiency.

A seasoned technology leader, Mr Rawther brings extensive experience from leading financial institutions and multinational corporations. Prior to joining CareEdge Group, he served as Head – Information Technology at SBI Mutual Fund. He has also held key leadership roles at prominent organisations including CARE Ratings Ltd., Poonawalla Fincorp (as Chief Information & Technology Officer), and IIFL (India Infoline Group), where he worked as Executive Vice President – Technology.

Mr Rawther began his professional journey as Manager – Technology at Primus.ca between 2001 and 2003. Since then, his career trajectory has reflected consistent growth and impactful leadership in enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and digital innovation.

Academically, Dr Rawther holds a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering from Hindustan University. His research, titled “Analyzing and Securing Networked Systems against Cyber-Attack Propagation Using Compartment Model,” underscores his deep expertise in cybersecurity and network resilience. He has also completed the “Finance for Tech Leaders” programme from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and an executive programme in Embedding Leadership Excellence from IIM Bangalore. Additionally, he is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

Further strengthening his academic credentials, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws & Cyber Forensics from the National Law School of India University, along with degrees in Computer Science & Engineering and IT Management.

Beyond his corporate leadership, Dr Rawther serves as a Technology Advisory Board Member for several leading technology OEMs and financial institutions in India and abroad. He is also actively associated with Cyberdome, a public-private partnership initiative launched by Kerala Police to combat cyber threats.

An accomplished thought leader, Dr Rawther is a prominent speaker in technology forums and has been consistently recognised among India’s Most Innovative CIOs and Top 100 CIOs & CSOs by various industry and media platforms over the years.

In addition, he contributes to academia as an Adjunct Professor at a leading engineering college, where he mentors students in Computer Science and Engineering, sharing his industry insights and expertise.
