Food delivery platform Zomato has cut off around 250 jobs as its customer support centre has been shut down, as per the reports suggested by Times Of India. The report further suggests that the decision is taken by the firm is part of its restructuring program followed by customer support model change from over past six months, as a larger part of work is being outsourced to external sources.
Zomato Streamlines Its Internal Customer Support Operations
As per the reports Zomato is streamlining the in-house support operations at Gurugram headquarters, bring closer its product, analytics, technology, and business teams. Employees were informed on Monday about the decision as part of customer support operating model review of Zomato and organisational requirements.
Affected Employees Are Offered With
Affected employees will earn their August salary including four months’ pay, plus, contractual notice pay along with one time ex gratia payment. While, counselling support and medical insurance will continue till March 31, 2027.
