With the festive season approaching and considering the increasing demand, Amazon has decided and announced to hire around 1600 workers temporarily across pan India operations to support its quick commerce business. These opportunities include indirect and direct work opportunities across around 400 cities, as reported by Times Of India. This includes large metro cities and tier 3 and tier 3 cities across India. The firm has created opportunity for women and people with disability as well. These associates will join to help in pickup, packing, shipping and delivering customer orders while supporting hiked demand that occur during festive season. The majority of these workers are already onboarded in preparation of the festive season.
As part of its broader commitment to associate wellbeing, Amazon extends its safety, welfare and support initiatives to seasonal employees as well. These associates receive access to programs designed to foster a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace, while also providing measures aimed at strengthening their financial and social security.
Amazon, with its Samridhi program, is up to support its employees joining the company ahead of festive rush of work, to enroll to the e-shram portal to ensure the access of government welfare as well as social security programs.
