Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) has appointed Kinjal Shah as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), bringing extensive technology leadership experience across capital markets, financial services and enterprise technology. Shah joins CDSL from YES Securities, where he previously served as CTO.
With more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry, including over a decade in the United States, Shah has worked across technology management, software engineering, enterprise systems and large-scale technology delivery. His professional experience spans financial services organisations and market infrastructure institutions, providing him with an understanding of the technology requirements of complex financial ecosystems.
Before joining CDSL, Shah led the technology function at YES Securities, overseeing technology initiatives in the financial services space. Earlier, he held senior technology positions at Edelweiss Global Markets and the National Stock Exchange of India, where his responsibilities included application management and digital transformation initiatives.
His career also includes professional assignments at Chenoa Information Services, ICE, JPMorgan Chase and SGS Technologie. Across these roles, Shah has gained experience in managing technology projects throughout their lifecycle, coordinating cross-functional teams and overseeing large-scale client accounts and delivery operations.
Shah’s leadership experience includes managing technology budgets exceeding $7 million and leading teams of up to 50 professionals, comprising project managers, developers, quality analysts and business analysts. His background combines technical expertise with programme delivery, resource management and business-aligned technology execution.
At CDSL, Shah’s appointment comes as technology remains central to the functioning of India’s securities market infrastructure. Depository operations depend on reliable digital systems, secure information exchange and efficient technology platforms to support market participants and investors.
With his experience across securities markets, financial services and enterprise technology, Shah brings a combination of technology leadership and delivery management expertise to CDSL as the organisation continues to support the evolving needs of India’s capital markets.
