Aditya Birla Capital Names Subhash Subramaniam as Chief Technology Officer

Aditya Birla Capital has appointed Subhash Subramaniam as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), bringing an experienced technology and cybersecurity leader into the company’s senior leadership team as it advances its digital transformation agenda.

Subramaniam comes with around three decades of experience across technology, banking, information security, risk management and digital platforms. Before joining Aditya Birla Capital, he served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the ICICI Group, overseeing information security across ICICI Bank and its group companies in India and international markets.

His career in financial technology began at the National Stock Exchange (NSE), where he was part of the team that helped develop and implement India’s first electronic exchange trading platform. He later founded a technology venture in 1997 focused on web applications, e-commerce and eLearning solutions before moving into banking.

At ICICI Bank, Subramaniam held responsibilities across Treasury Operations, Technology, Risk Management and Information Security, building cross-functional expertise spanning technology and financial services.

In his new role, he is expected to contribute to Aditya Birla Capital’s technology strategy, with a focus on developing secure, scalable and resilient digital platforms. His combination of enterprise technology, cybersecurity and banking experience is expected to support the company as technology becomes increasingly central to customer experience, operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making and business growth.
