India Mortgage Guarantee Corporation (IMGC) has appointed Jatinder Singh Malhotra as Chief Information Officer (CIO), bringing a new technology leadership focus to the company as it expands its digital capabilities and prepares its technology infrastructure for the next phase of growth.
Malhotra takes charge of IMGC’s technology and information security roadmap, with his mandate extending to enterprise technology, advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives. The role is expected to play an important part in developing a secure and scalable technology environment for the company’s mortgage guarantee operations and lending partners.
Bringing Technology and Business Strategy Together
Malhotra brings more than 17 years of experience across enterprise architecture, digital modernisation, technology transformation and business strategy. His career has included experience across banking, financial services, insurance and consulting, giving him exposure to technology programmes within complex business environments.
Before joining IMGC, he held leadership and consulting roles at organisations including Boston Consulting Group, Accenture Strategy and EY. An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, Malhotra has worked on initiatives involving enterprise transformation, technology strategy and the modernisation of business platforms.
Focus on Scalable and Secure Technology
In his new position, Malhotra is expected to strengthen the underlying technology architecture supporting IMGC’s operations while enhancing resilience and information security.
For a business operating within the financial services ecosystem, scalability and security are increasingly interconnected. As digital processes become more deeply embedded into lending and mortgage workflows, technology platforms need to support growing transaction volumes while maintaining reliability, data protection and operational continuity.
IMGC’s technology agenda therefore extends beyond conventional IT infrastructure. The company is looking to combine enterprise systems with analytics and emerging AI/ML capabilities to create more intelligent and scalable solutions for its ecosystem of lending partners.
AI and Analytics Enter the Core Technology Agenda
Another important component of Malhotra’s mandate will be the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics into IMGC’s technology environment.
The move reflects a broader shift across financial services, where data and AI are increasingly being used to improve decision-making, automate processes and create more responsive digital experiences.
For IMGC, these capabilities could support the evolution of its mortgage guarantee platform while helping lending partners operate through more connected and technology-driven processes.
With Malhotra taking charge of the CIO function, IMGC is strengthening the leadership behind its digital strategy at a time when technology, security and intelligent data capabilities are becoming increasingly important to financial services businesses.
His appointment signals the company’s intent to build a secure, scalable and AI-enabled technology foundation capable of supporting its future growth and the changing needs of India’s lending ecosystem.
